STOP Restoration of Bakersfield Joins Community Effort to Help Sheriff's Deputy Battling Cancer and Mold

In a remarkable display of community solidarity, residents of Bakersfield, CA, have united to support Kern County Sheriff's Deputy Jasmine Francisco. Just days before moving into her new home, Jasmine received a devastating diagnosis of kidney cancer. Shortly after, she discovered an extensive mold infestation in the residence.

When Sean Todd, owner of STOP Restoration of Bakersfield, learned about Jasmine's situation, he immediately got involved to help.

"We came up with our guys and we discovered mold underneath the sink and all," Sean explained to 23 ABC news. "You kind of have to chase it, so when you open it up, you just keep chasing it until you can't find it anymore."

STOP Restoration's assessment revealed widespread infestation affecting bathrooms, the master bedroom, hallway areas, and kitchen spaces. The remediation required tearing out affected walls and removing contaminated flooring—critical work for someone already battling cancer.

Local residents organized fundraising events, including a community pancake breakfast. Read more about the efforts to support Jasmine here.

Sean's work with STOP Restoration has not only helped address the mold issue but has also brought the community together in support of one of their own. His dedication and empathy have made a significant impact, reminding us all of the power of community and the importance of standing together in times of need.
